More older workers worry about retirement - Washington Business Journal:

The Arlington-based human resource firm says among workerse 50 to 64years old, only 44 perceny are confident they will have enough money to live comfortably five yearzs into retirement. That is down from 63 percenr in 2007. The outlook 15 years into retirement iseven worse, with just 18 perceny of older workers confident of beingg financially comfortable, compared to 34 percent in 2007. “Retirement securitu is a huge concern as individualsa have seen significant amounts of theie pension and retirementsavings decline,” says Watson Wyatt senior retirementt consultant David Speier.
“The financial crisis has been especiallu damaging to older workersx who are worried aboutf potential job losses and have experienced higher stress levelsa over thepast year.” As retirement older workers are scrambling to shore up their with 19 percent increasing their savings rate and 34 percenty considering doing so, the Watson Wyatt WW) survey says.
