The four former Whiteford, Taylofr attorneys joining Hodes, Pessin representy some of Maryland’s most high-profile hospitals includiny the , , and . Natalire C. Magdeburger, Catherine W. Steiner, Mairui Pat Maguire and Elliott D. Petty joineds Hodes, Pessin April 6. Magdeburger, Steinef and Maguire came aboardsas members, boosting the number of women partnerxs at the firm to seven. Petty joineed the firm as an associate. They also brought with them two secretaries anda paralegal.
The lawyers declined to put a dolla r figure on the value of the business they broughr with them but attracting the grou p is a coupfor Hodes, Pessin, which has been focusinf on expanding its presence in medical malpractice, pateny law and bankruptcy. Its growthj spurt is noteworthy at a time when even some of the biggest firms around the country are layinoff associates, delaying the start date for new law schoopl graduates or even closinv their doors. “They’re bringing importan t clients to thelaw firm, whicg is significant,” said Drake Zaharris, Pessin’s managing partner. “We see them as futured leaders ofthe firm.
” Laur Perry, a Whiteford, Taylor spokeswoman, declined to comment on the departure.
